Student Achievement
Congratulations to student Brianna Ma. Her performance in Weill Hall (Carnegie Hall) as part of the 2019 Crescendo Competition recitals was noted, and she was awarded a Grand Prize Honor.

Congratulations to student Chengyan (Ryan) Shi on his piano concerto performance with the Coquitlam Youth Orchestra. He played the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9 “Jeunehomme”.
Four students win Gold Medals from RCM for 2018 piano exams
The 2018 piano exam period is now complete, and the Royal Conservatory of Music has announced the gold medals for candidates who received the highest marks in their level for the year. Four of my students captured this honour:
- Rhea Zhu, Level 7 Piano, B.C. Gold Medal [highest mark in B.C. for a Level 7 piano examination]
- Owen Wang, Level 8 Piano, B.C. Gold Medal [highest mark in B.C. for a Level 8 piano examination]
- Eric Zhang, Level 9 Piano, B.C. Gold Medal [highest mark in B.C. for a Level 9 piano examination]
- Sue Wang, Licentiate Diploma, National Gold Medal [highest mark in North America for a piano Licentiate Diploma examination]
